Women Power: A Trivialised Tag

Sailing through historical chronicles, male dominance over every page is a sure thing. Our history books are deluged with the exorbitant contribution by male monarchs, dictators, emperors, freedom fighters, scientists, writers or influencers  Their impressive bearing is jotted down in the most beautiful writings, be it Shakespeare or Gandhi.

is it true that history was solely propped up male counterparts, without any significant contribution from female counterparts?

To answer this question, one has to look more deeply into history. And, pay heed to different publications honouring influential contributions made by feisty women. Observing that, one would realise that it is the lack of noise that females made while coming to the forefront and fighting alongside their counterparts, which kept the contributions extremely coveted. Had it been hailed, it would have made louder noise and inspired lots more. Moreover, people wouldn't be counting the contributions on fingers today, had it been revered back then. So, it is not the lack of material, it is lack of knowledge about the material, which has kept the matter buried and under the radar.

Talking about women's contribution to history. one of the names that immediately pops up is Rani Lakshmi Bai, one of the greatest freedom fighters nation has ever witnessed. She possessed the character of resoluteness, dogmatism, which spoke volume about the intent and love towards the country. Not only does this signify the bravery but also the assertiveness within oneself. Another great reformer is SavitriBai Phule, a wife, an author, a teacher, a social reformer. This lady is a Beacon. She not only made education a special part of her life but made sure that it becomes essential to other girls, and opened the first school in India for women  This lady portrayed courage, required to bring change in the society and became a pioneer to girls education.

These two examples are like two drops of the ocean.

Thousands like these made copious contributions to Indian history and went all-out to bring a considerable change in the society, but sadly still faces scepticism about being put on a pedestal.

Historically, flagged for reaching to the frontline and impressing name. And today, not even being cherished for those endeavours.

Before anything, why is it important to put forth the contributions made by females?

It is imperative, not because women's' offerings to the society have been marginalised for decades but because it is worth making a conversation about. In the current day and age, girls and women are stepping out and making significant changes in the world. But, one should not assume this to be unprecedented. Our brave ladies have sacrificed a lot to ingrain substance within us. They fought during the times when merely coming out was prohibited. They went out against all odds to conquer the world and relish their rights. Not only did they have to fight the heinous deed of remote enemies but also the bashes from proximal family. It was multifold difficult situation than today, but it didn't hold them back. So, it is much rather obligatory to make people aware of the ferocious leaders of the past, who were not bogged down by the gruelling situation and outcomes.

History needs to be placed at disposal, revealing every single sacrifice made and every backlashes endured.

So in the end, how to bring the golden history of women to the forefront?

For solving any issue, one has to primarily understand the issue by its nature. And here, the nature of the problem is very basic. it is lack of understanding. The understanding of the need for the upliftment. This understanding can only come about after imbibing the extraordinary stories of the wonder women. Only after proper understandings of the sacrifices made and sufferings dealt can the tales reach to masses.
ones who read are the ones who speak

Making people aware and spreading the stories can bring humongous change and thereby bring societal reform. Hence, Much the people become aware, much the people can relish.
